The Magic of the Underground

The cavers of the Cave Adventures Centre are nature lovers and explorers of the underground, about which they can share many fascinating insights. Not only are all speleologists certified at the national level, but among them are also cave guides and cave rescuers, for whom the “world below” represents a “second home”, which they wish to present to the wider public in an interesting, attractive, yet respectful way.
In doing so, they have introduced speleotourism, a new form of green tourism that also represents an active excursion or holiday. With the product The Magic of the Underground, they aim to present the rich natural heritage of the Dobrovlje karst plateau to adult visitors in an innovative and experiential way.
Visitors will first view a collection of rocks at the Cave Adventures Centre and listen to a presentation of the natural heritage of Vransko, with an emphasis on the karst of Dobrovlje. This will be followed by a short training session on the rules of behaviour in nature, especially in caves, and on the handling of protective equipment. The experience will conclude with an experiential visit to a nearby natural karst cave.

The experience is carried out by prior arrangement throughout the year (January to December).

Price

The price includes an introduction to local natural heritage, a guided tour of the rock collection, learning cave rules and correct use of equipment, rental of protective gear, and guidance by speleological guides in the cave.

Practical Information

The Magic of the Underground lasts 3 hours.

Sports clothing required (long sleeves, long trousers).

The experience is carried out for groups of at least 2 and up to 12 participants upon reservation.

Price per person: €60 (up to six people), €50 (more than six people).

Parking is available at the CJD (Prapreče 2, 3305 Vransko). Alternatively, you may park in Vransko and walk approximately 1 km to the CJD through the town square, which hides many sights, and a chestnut tree-lined avenue leading from the campsite to the CJD.
